#TwitterForAgency Summit 2022 ends on a high note!

Entravision MediaDonuts Thailand and Entravision MediaDonuts Philippines just concluded a highly successful run of the very first #TwitterForAgency in September, gathering business colleagues and friends from the agencies for a day of networking and learning!

Esteemed speakers from Twitter SEA and local EVCMD executives talked about the superpower of the Twitter audience, conversation topics that the Thai Gen Zers are talking about, and how Twitter is driving people to buy with its performance and shopping solutions. 

The event also showcased Twitter as a video powerhouse and a creative canvas to catch people’s attention and get them talking. Finally, a presentation highlighting two Twitter awards for agencies—Twitter Innovators and #BestofTweets—kept the audience glued to the screen as it offered awards and incentives they could win for themselves and for their agencies.

Robinhood teams up with Accenture Song to accelerate super app ambitions through digital marketing innovation

Robinhood, Thailand’s fastest-growing food delivery app and all-in-one travel service platform, collaborates with Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to drive advertising creativity and enhance brand experiences for advertisers on the platform.

Led by Accenture Song (formerly Accenture Interactive), the multi-year strategic collaboration accelerates Robinhood’s business transformation across various aspects, positioning the platform as one of Thailand’s most impressive super apps, enhancing its product management and strategy, and creating rewarding customer experiences. Key to this effort is an ad-suite platform powered by data insights and analytics technologies to support advertisers in multiple areas of digital marketing optimization.   

Accenture Song’s Southeast Asia lead, Thomas Mouritzen, said: “Robinhood is a great purpose-led company, and it has been such pivotal support for the community. Our creativity, technology and intelligence will be instrumental in helping Robinhood drive their next phase of growth in Southeast Asia and add more relevant experiences to their ecosystem.” 

In 2022, digital advertising spending is expected to grow by 9% to reach 27 billion baht, pushing brands to rapidly reimagine their digital innovation. This collaboration is a significant part of Robinhood’s new roadmap for sustainable growth, focused on helping businesses and communities thrive amidst disruption. It also furthers Robinhood’s ambitions to grow into a super app that provides services beyond food delivery, including travel, mart, parcel delivery and ride-hailing in Thailand.

RobinhoodAds has started empowering early adopters across various industries such as fast-food restaurant Texas Chicken, furniture retailer Index Living Mall, vitamin-fortified beverage Vitza and video streaming provider Viu, to take charge of their business and marketing goals through the tech-driven ad suite platform for greater brand awareness. Soon, merchants on the platform can look forward to growing their visibility through self-service advertising tools, allowing greater autonomy and management of ad inventory.

Twitter launches the 2022 #TwitterTrends Report in the Philippines 

The newly released 2022 #TwitterTrends Philippines Report, culled from observing billions of Tweets over a two-year period, reveals three trends that are predicted to rule the conversations on Twitter in 2022: The Great Restoration, The Force of Fandoms, and Finance Goes Social.

The Great Restoration

People are recognizing the importance of prioritizing their mental wellbeing, and are coming together online to not only raise this sentiment, but find remedies for it. The 2022 #TwitterTrends Philippines Report notes that mentions of “mental health” increased from 2020 to 2021, while “green spaces” was mentioned in 69% more Tweets year-on-year as people come to realize that their wellbeing is directly linked to the environment they live in.

Filipinos are also finding solace in communities on Twitter when they need it. Data shows that “coping mechanisms” garnered a 77% increase in mentions and “safe place,” 22%. Even as these conversations happen only virtually, the kindness and empathy of strangers shine through. 

The Force of Fandoms

Indeed, “The Force of Fandoms” is a huge trend that will emerge in the immediate future. The newly released 2022 #TwitterTrends Philippines Report reveals that mentions of “P-Pop” (for Pinoy Pop) on Twitter grew by 223% year-on-year as the popularity of SB19, BGYO, and BINI skyrocketed. From quick updates, to fan art, to stanning, Twitter users are propelling their favorite celebrities to new heights.

Outside of show business, there exist fandoms too. There are anime communities blowing up online. Twitter mentions of “content streaming” increased by 40% year-on-year, thanks largely to gaming fans, while the world of sports has a steadily growing following like its virtual counterpart, with topics like Sports duos (+96%) and Fan tokens (+1283%) foreseen to become even bigger. 

Finance Goes Social

Filipinos these days have begun to take an active stance in conversations about finances, and are more open to embracing new investment methods and opportunities—all while keeping it light and entertaining, thus the trend, “Finance Goes Social.”

For instance, conversations on Twitter about non-fungible tokens (NFTs), a form of cryptographic assets, grew by a staggering 7290% in 2021 alone. Topics that fall under “Crypto” increased by 466%, while “axie,” already enjoying a 54282% growth, is expected to balloon further. And the list goes on: “Binance,” “Altcoin,” and “Smooth Love Potion,” may not mean much to you today, but they will if you follow these conversations on Twitter.
